According to the release posted on the service’s website, the fire began at 01:34 a.m. local time (2234 GMT) in the Tokyo Star Hotel. More than 60 people and 13 units of equipment were deployed to put out the blaze, which was eliminated about three hours later.'

A man believed to be homeless drowned when a massive downpour triggered a flash flood at an underpass in the Unkapi neighborhood on the European side of the city, NTV said. The heavy rainfall has caused havoc in the city, disturbing sea and road traffic. Vehicles were trapped on the road in several locations, and all ferry services on the Bosporus Strait connecting the Asian and European parts of the city were suspended, according to press reports. Flash floods also hit buildings across the city, including shops and workplaces, creating significant damage.'

The non-governmental organization, whose mission is to rescue from the sea migrants who try to reach Europe, made the announcement on its Twitter account. “The abuse of those who try to cover a political failure continues causing unnecessary suffering to the most vulnerable,” it noted, adding that 107 people plus 19 crew continue to suffer on board. The ship with 134 people on board has been at sea for 16 days, waiting for authorization to land on the island.'
